Frank Carroll’s illustrious career reached another level when he began coaching the precocious Michelle Kwan prior to the 1992 United States Figure Skating Championships. Together, they created a legacy and a standard of skating that is revered to this day. Their partnership appeared destined for Olympic gold, but it was not to be. After a stunning loss in Nagano, Michelle Kwan split with Frank Carroll just four months before the 2002 Olympic Games.
